The original Waiheke jazz band for 25 years was Chocolate Fish – now Island musos Pete Reilly and Chris Orange ( Chocolate Fish ) join city slickers Rose Meyer (vocals/guitar) and Phil Barker (drums) of The Paperbacks, in The Buzz Bars for one night of musical fun.

Chilled, chewy and memorable for their choc choice of delectable tunes, the Buzz Bars have entertained the most outrageous hoedowns, beach parties, sumptuous weddings and sultry dinners the Island has seen. Not doing things by half on this Island is expected – and you will have more than your share at Casita Miro with the Buzz Bars.

Pete Reilly’s musical journey started as the youngest member of a music family – the Singing Reillys – entertaining folk around the country with legendary song – master and celebrity Max Cryer. He sang showtunes for Royalty and still does! Sit back, sip a glass, let Pete take command – and treat yourself to an evening of the finest jazz tones south of the West End.

Starting on electric bass in seminal NZ punk bands The Terrorways (1979-80) and The Features (1981), Chris Orange has continued furthering diverse, alternative musical projects, writing and recording music for short NZ Film, Musical Theatre, jazz band, and performing internationally. Multi-instrumentalist, song-writer, singer, his performing career ranges from busking in Tokyo to supporting John Cale (X Features 2008).
