Kingsley Spargo is renowned for leaving audiences mesmerised with music that pulls at the heart, and his forthcoming album proves no exception. Transcending genres in ways few musicians can, the soulful trumpeter has wowed audiences alongside luminaries such as Don McGlashan, Tim Finn, Violent Femmes, SJD, and more recently with the inimitable Witi Ihimaera.

Sharing the stage is the enthralling spoken word artist Kim Meredith, who has also penned several of the songs. The new compositions seldom languish in the obvious, and RNZ reviewer William Dart describes his 2019 album Chasing Spirits as ‘a bit like a trip to an all-star cocktail lounge’ with the impeccable musicianship of the band tempered by a healthy dose of anarchy. Waihekian guitarist Johnny Fleury (Dave Dobbyn, Jordan Luck and Dave McArtney) teams up with fellow islander double bassist Chris Orange (The Features, The Terrorways and free jazz juggarnaut Earth Telephone).
