Tony Masterantonio and Chris Orange take you on an electrifying journey, played with passion and authenticity. Tony has played with American legends like Eddie Levert, Matt Goss, Wayne Newton, and The Bluesmasters Feat. Mickey Thomas (all USA). His recent outings – playing a Telecaster – have been with Chris Orange on double bass – in Teleporter Trio.

Multi-instrumentalist, song-writer, singer, Chris Orange’s creative work is wide-ranging. Combining double bass and singing in live performance is a passion. Some of the artists he has worked with include George Kahi, The Aotea Youth Symphony, Doug Jerebine (aka Jesse Harper), Lerraine Horstmanshoff (USA), Mahinarangi Tucker (Aotearoa/NZ), John McKay (Canada), Colin Leitch (Japan), Junichi Kawakami (Japan), and Pat Urlich (Aotearoa/NZ). His performing career ranges from playing bass in seminal Auckland punk and post-punk bands to busking free jazz in Tokyo to supporting John Cale (X Features 2008). Chris teaches Sonic Arts at MAINZ in Auckland and is an advocate of Art as a way of knowing about the world.

Now putting their unique spin on classics by combining elements of jazz, alt-country, and surf-rock, Tony (guitar, vocals) and Chris (double bass, vocals) move seamlessly between sensitive and searing, from multi-layered to unapologetically straight-ahead, this duo is one worth hearing!
